On June 29th, 2023, Bornfyne participated in the launch of Cameroon’s commitment to FP2030 which took place in Yaounde. During the event organized under the theme “Political engagement, financial engagement and offer of services”, BornFyne showcased its family planning module to Cameroon’s Minister of Public Health and the UNFPA representative.
Cameroon’s Public Health Minister tested the BornFyne family planning feature and listened to audio messages uploaded in different languages, to serve as a platform for continuous education on family planning. The minister congratulated Bornfyne’s efforts in promoting family planning as part of its objective towards achieving the FP 2030 agenda.
The family planning audio messages created by Bornfyne focus on the importance of family planning, risks of early pregnancy and different contraceptives methods.
Cameroon has made ambitious financial commitments since 2014. The government has pledged to advocate for a 5% increase every year in the budget for reproductive health and family planning along with creation of a budget line for family planning commodities.
